More Walking on Wednesdays
Just to keep life real, I'm posting a shot of my basement - the spot I've cleared so I can *walk* when the weather is icky or it's dark outside. See the portable TV on the left? It's propped on the steps to a Step Aerobics bench. Remember that fad? Somewhere in the basement is a rebounder. Boy, that takes me back, since I've hd mine for thirty years. Basically, I dont like bouncing that much. I dont *run* either. Too hard on the joints.
Here's a goofy shot proving that I'm using Leslie Sansone tapes (VHS) to improve my commitment to exercising regularly. I have a *library* of aerobics tapes that never got much use because I never could figure out the dance routines. That's why I like Leslie. She's plain and simple. I would buy more of her tapes, except there all DVDs now.
Last year I successfully logged the 1049 minutes on the Idita-walk, but this year I want to exceed that number by walking more often, trying for every day. I'm already a couple days behind. But I'm not going to let that discourage me.
I'm just glad I dont have to get out in the freezing cold and snow like my walking buddy, Carol. Bbrrrrr.
Right now I'm doing the two mile tapes and hoping to push up to four miles.
What are your exercise goals?

Well, my friend, I'm moving back inside. I told Curt about several slips and slides, those almost falls where you catch yourself, and he very clearly said he did not want me walking outside. We've had *more* snow last night and that makes it more treacherous because you can't see the ice underneath. I thought about going around the high school track two blocks away but it's two-three feet of snow with *no* tracks around it.
I'm going to look into Leslie Sansone. Sometimes going up to the hospital to work out seems like too much bother.
Keep it up. You inspire me.
Carol
I know the feeling ... when just getting in the car to drive one mile to the track at the park seems like too much of an obstacle. It still can be a deterent at times. That's why I keep writing about all the different places and times for walking. I'm talking myself into the next leg.
The idea of walking for exercise started when I was waiting in the carpool line, provided I didnt have to tend to a toddler. I'd get out and walk five minutes in one direction and then turn around and hoof it back to the car for a ten minute total. Gradually it became longer distances.
Gotta be careful about stomping too hard on that cement floor....it hurts!
Now walking on the beach is a different story.
A lady can dream :)
